Announcing our ground-breaking collaborative partnership with Factom, Plug and Play Tech Center, BitPesa, and The Water Project to provide a platform for nonprofit transparency and accountability using Bitcoin and blockchain technology!
As a pilot project, this collaboration of tech startups and NGOs are using Factom tech and the blockchain to create radical transparency in how donor funds are being used in Africa to provide safe water. By tracking donations through the blockchain and Factom, they aim to introduce a new level of transparency that will bring real-time assurances that money donated to accomplish a particular mission are doing just that.
The collaboration amongst five tech startups and nonprofits will build a pilot project to monitor funds used to maintain water projects built in western Kenya through The Water Project. They are hoping with this collaboration that they can create a new donor experience and standard in giving and perhaps drive more interest and enthusiasm to global giving.
